Our story
A family kitchen in the middle of Evesham
Yumi Yumi has been cooking for Evesham from a low-beamed room behind Merstow Green for years — the same family at the helm, our own chefs in the kitchen, and the same welcome at the door.
The restaurant
Small kitchen, big plates, nothing sitting around
We are a genuinely family-run business. The kitchen is small, the menu is cooked to order, and the food goes straight from the wok to your table or into your box — which is why it arrives hot rather than lukewarm.
Ingredients are bought in fresh and prepped for each service. Vegetables stay crisp, the chicken balls are fried when you ask for them, and the sauces are made in house rather than poured out of a tub.
Portions are, by common agreement, larger than they need to be. Two main dishes and a rice will comfortably feed three people, and most tables leave with a box for tomorrow.
The building is part of the charm: original oak framing, red lanterns in the windows, hand-painted lacquer panels on the beams and a patterned carpet that has seen a lot of very happy evenings.
